ARTHUR JONES AND A GLASS OF WINE
From Castro to Clinton

From Persian Palaces to Tijuana Slums
Tall and not-so-tall tales from a writer’s life

Arthur Jones has spent fifty-five years as a journalist, broadcaster and author. He has reported back for Forbes, the Financial Times, the National Catholic Reporter, World Trade Magazine, Financial World Magazine, the London Times, the London Tablet, and others, from more than 30 countries.

The British-born, Ruskin College, Oxford-educated journalist, a Monkton resident, has interviewed a half-dozen heads of state, and written a dozen books. His most recent book is The Road He Travelled: the Revealing Biography of M. Scott Peck (Random House/Rider UK, 2007) -- no U.S. publisher yet. He writes for Law Firm Inc magazine and has just completed a juvenile fiction.

Jones will talk about escapades that include fleeing an irate mother throwing coal at him, his first libel suit, avoiding a Somali foreign minister out to arrest him, Simplicity Patterns, two dead prime ministers, and eating live baby eels. There will be a no-questions-barred Q&A session to conclude the talk.

The cost of the event is $25. Proceeds benefit the Northern Baltimore County Art Foundation. Reservations required, space is limited. The event will be held at May 18, 2008 from 3-5 in the fine art gallery at Diddywopps & Keeffers located at 1901 Monkton Road on the trail in Monkton Maryland; closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Phone 410-472-0470 for details or website at www.NBCAF.com.
